EIBFS - Garduates 45 from the women banking leaders
PRESS RELEASE: Under the patronage and presence of H.E Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, chairman of the HRDC in the banking and finance sector, and the presence of H.E Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair CEO Mashreq Bank, the institute organized a graduation ceremony for (45) women leaders in the banking sector who participated in “Women Emerging in leadership “workshop organized by the institute in collaboration with the university of Virginia Darden Business school, USA, on Thursday 12th of May, 2011 at Al Maydan Hotel.
H.E AbdulAziz Al Ghurair congratulated all graduating females assuring the market’s need for such programs aiming at directing women to leadership positions in the banking sector. He emphasized women’s role in advancing economic development through her presence in the banking sector as constituting two thirds of the number of UAE nationals employed in the banks. He also thanked the management of the Emirates Institute for banking and financial studies chaired by H.E Ahmed Humaid Al-Tayer, for their efforts in supporting emiratization policies generally and specifically supporting women in leadership and specialized positions. He stressed the role played by the institute over a period extending for more than a quarter of a century, as one of the most important institutions that enhanced the presence of UAE nationals in the banking and finance sectors, wishing success for all graduates.
H.E Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, on his side, thanked H.E AbdulAziz Al Ghurair, CEO Mashreq bank for his participation in this graduation ceremony. He expressed his thanks to the graduates and all those who attended, saying that the graduation of this leading women group in the banking sector is an evidence of the ability of women to work in all fields specially leadership positions. He mentioned that he will be looking forward to see one day a UAE national female as a CEO in one of the banks, and seeing her working in specialized positions such as credit management, Investment, and internal auditing, such positions, that he is certain will be competently performed by her.
H.E Al Tayer commended the cooperation of Virginia University Darden Business School for organizing this workshop and thanked the professors of Darden for facilitating the program. He congratulated all the graduates wishing them every success in their professional careers, and directing their attention to benefit from such opportunities to upgrade and improve the professional standard.
Mr. Jamal Ahmed Al Jassmi, General Manager of EIBFS, stated on his part, that EIBFS will work to organize such a programs next year, in addition to other specialized programs aiming at enhancing the presence of UAE nationals in general, and UAE women especially in specialized leadership positions. He stressed the significance of this program in enhancing leadership capabilities and behaviors and supporting analysis and management skills. He continued saying that the institute always endeavors to enhance the role of women in supporting the banking sector, as they constitute (67.2%) of the total number of UAE nationals working in the banking sector. He also emphasized the importance of EIBFS’s programs in qualifying UAE nationals for work in the banking sector, commending the cooperation of banks on their role in supporting emiratization policies and increasing the rates of emiratization, and offering programs directed towards developing national human resources. He also pointed to the fact that the emiratization experience in the banking sector is considered an example to be followed by all other sectors, as it is consistent with the aspiration and goals of the state to support national human resources and availing opportunity for them to prove their professional competency in the labor market. Al Jassmi then congratulated all the graduates calling for more participation in such programs, announcing that the institute will offer specialized programs that will benefit them and their career path. At the end of the ceremony H.E AbdulAziz Al Ghurair, H.E Ahmed Humaid Al-Tayer and Mr. Jamal Al Jassmi handed the graduates their certificates.
